The car in the painting was driven up to Silver City, ID and then parked next to the mine to be used in mining.
The floor of the car was cut out and a pulley was added to the drive line and a cable was run out the back door up to a tower and down into the mine. The car was put into drive and lifted the bucket out of the mine and then put in reverse and lowered back down into the mine.
